Jessie Gomez, Jr.

April 14, 1941 – April 7, 2019

Cremation rites have been held for Jessie Gomez, Jr., 77, of Coos Bay, under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary.

Jessie was born April 14, 1941 in Corsicana, Texas, the son of Jessie and Patsy (Wright) Gomez, Sr. He was raised and educated in Texas where he worked as a well digger in the oil fields. He was an avid coon hunter and he enjoyed the out of doors.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Gomez of Coos Bay, children, Jessie Wayne Gomez, Anthony Glen Gomez, Rose Anna Higgins, Telena Pettit, Johnny Swanson, Brian Coker, and Robin Moore; sister, Betty Rutherford of Texas, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and two fur babies, Sassy and Bugster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Gomez and Patsy Applegate, a brother, Anthony Wayne Gomez and a sister, Shirley Applegate.
