March 7, 1925 - July 22, 2018 Dorothy Jean Beach McCarty, 93, of Coos Bay, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, with loved ones by her side. Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 3355 Virginia Ave. in North Bend. Bishop Ryan Pederson will conduct. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, July 27 at Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary 405 Elrod Ave. in Coos Bay and at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28 before the funeral services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-DaySaints Relief Society Room. Mary Jean Leaton Dec. 13, 1957 – June 30, 2018 Cremation rites have been held for Mary Jean Leaton, 60, of North Bend, under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary. Mary was born Dec. 13, 1957 in North Bend, the daughter of Robert J. and Mary Ellen (Miller) Tavernier. She passed away June 30, 2018 in North Bend. She was raised and educated in Coos Bay and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1976. Mary was a loving mother and a hard worker. She had worked as an in-home caregiver, a pharmacy technician, and was currently working at North Bend Medical Center. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family and friends and she especially enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. Sh
