Gerald “Jerry” Washabaugh, 60, of Port Orford, Oregon passed away on Sunday, June 14,
2026, in Coos Bay, Oregon. Jerry was born on February 18, 1966, in San Diego California to
mother, Koko Araki Washabaugh.
Throughout his life Jerry accomplished many things. By far he was proudest to be the
father of triplets to whom he loved deeply. He had a knack for always cracking a good joke or
trying to lighten the mood. In his high school days, Jerry enjoyed playing in different sports such
as football and golf. Throughout his life he cultivated a love for metal detecting, 80s music, and
watching movies. Some of his favorites being Harry Potter, Star Trek, and Star Wars.
In 2015 Jerry moved to the Oregon coast with his family. There he would spend his time
going to the beach to collect agates or watching the stars with his telescope. Jerry was a firm
believer in Bigfoot. He also had a vast knowledge for working on cars and he passed down that
knowledge to his children. Jerry was always finding creative ways to fix something that was
broken or tinkering with his next project. He enjoyed collecting all sorts of trinkets and he
proudly displayed them throughout his home.
Jerry had a huge heart and cared greatly for his family and pets. He enjoyed giving gifts to show
appreciation to the people he loved. His faith was very important to him and he is now reunited
with God.
Jerry is survived by his triplet children, Hannah Washabaugh of Corvallis, Oregon, Alexis
Washabaugh of San Francisco, California, and Justin Washabaugh of Denver, Colorado, as well
as his sister, Crystal Cooper of Santa Clarita, California. He was a great man, father, and friend,
and he will be greatly missed.
