Cremation rites have been held for Louise Janet Perdue, 83, of Coos Bay, under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary. Interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point.

Louise was born Dec. 31, 1934 in Erie, Pa., where she was raised and educated. As a young woman she moved in 1959 with her children to Los Angeles and later to Ventura, Calif. There she met Herbert Perdue and they were married in 1969. In 1974 they moved to Coos Bay where she has since resided.

Louise and Herb where members of the Family Worship Center, in North Bend, where she taught Sunday school and worked with the missionettes for many years. She was involved in one of the local chapters of the Red Hat Society and she enjoyed arts and crafts and handywork. Louise also enjoyed crabbing and fishing with her husband.

She is survived by son, Rufus and Kay La Lone of Silverton; son, David K. La Lone of Coos Bay; daughter, Kathy and Jim Mattern of Coos Bay; two grandchildren; and brother, Gary Rosse of Commerce, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Perdue in 2005.
