Jeff Dority, age 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 30, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a legacy defined by compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion.

Jeff was more than a father; he was a protector, a steady presence, and someone who showed his love through action. Over the last year and a half of his life, he made a selfless decision to leave behind the life he had built in California to come to Oregon and care for his elderly mother, Barbara Dority. He dedicated himself fully to her well-being, ensuring she was safe, cared for, and never alone.

Those who knew Jeff knew the kind of man he was loyal, strong, and always willing to show up for the people he loved. He never put himself first. He took care of everyone around him, often without anyone even realizing how much he carried. The impact he made on the lives of those who knew him, even the people he met for a short time, was something truly special.

Jeff had a love of working on cars and enjoyed country music. He found purpose in fixing things, helping others, and being there when it mattered most.

Jeff is survived by his daughters, Nikki Puckett and Erica Kidd-Dority; son in-law Travis Puckett and his eight grandchildren, Trenton, Audrey, Ethan, Mason, Madison, Karson, Scottie, and Archie; his mother, Barbara Dority; and his sisters, Loretta Dority and Teresa Dority, and his lifelong friend and mother of his children, Lori Kidd.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Dority, and his brother, Arthur Dority.

A private service will be held locally. In addition, a Celebration of Life will be held this summer in California, where friends and family will be invited to come together, share memories, and honor the incredible person he was. Details will be shared as plans are finalized.

Jeff will be remembered not just for what he did, but for who he was a man who loved deeply, gave freely, and stood by his family no matter what.

He will be missed beyond words.

With love,

Nikki & Erica

Cremation Rites held by Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, 405 Elrod Ave, Coos Bay OR 97420, 541-217-1665
