Cremation rites have been held for Rodney Miller Jones, 69, of Coos Bay, Oregon under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary. He will be laid to rest at the Verbena Cemetery in Verbena, Alabama next to his parents.
Rodney was born May 10, 1949 in Clanton, Alabama, the son of Joseph “Grady” and Anna “Olivia: (Dansby) Jones. He passed away May 11, 2018 at his Coos Bay home. Rodney was raised and educated in Alabama and set off as a young man to explore the country. He made his way to the Pacific Ocean along the Oregon coast and made his home in Lincoln City and then Coos Bay, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Olivia Jones, and a brother, Charles Jones.
He is survived by his sister, Deanna and her husband Bob Burkhardt of Kennesaw, Georgia.
Rodney was loved by and prayed for by his family and he will be forever remembered.
