Ashur Pate died on March 20, 2026 at age 17, at home in Coos Bay from a self-inflicted injury. Ashur suffered constant, debilitating, life altering, whole body physical pains that recently had gotten exponentially worse.
Ashur was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 28, 2008. Moving to Coos Bay, Oregon in June of 2021. Ashur attended 8th grade at North Bend Middle School and progressed into North Bend High School. Ashur was a 4.0 student (except for that PE class) and was always willing to help other students understand their work.
Ashur was an avid collector of Pokémon cards, loved to collect achievements and have perfect runs in video games on both the PC and Android.
Ashur is survived by Aaron Pate, father; Amanda Pate, mother; Acacia Pate, sibling; and Purrdiddle, cat.
A memorial service will be held at the Coos Bay Stake Center, 3355 Virginia Ave, North Bend, OR 97459 at 3PM. Time to talk together, share some of Ashur’s favorite foods, and look at photos, as friends and family will be held at the same location immediately following the memorial service.
Cremation rites have been held under the direction of Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary, 405 Elrod Ave, Coos Bay. 541/267-4216
