Beatice "Ty" E. Espy

September 11, 1936 - June 15, 2023

Beatrice “Ty” E. Espy, 86, of Coos Bay, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023.

Ty was born on September 11, 1936 in Kellogg, Idaho to John Edmunsun and Mary Ellen Niccum.

In 1971, Ty graduated from Southwestern Oregon Community College with a nursing degree. Ty went on to become the very first nurse to work at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay.

Ty was a country girl at heart. She loved riding horses, fishing, hunting, and camping. She also loved admiring the ocean. Ty was the rock of her family and adored spending time with them.

Ty is survived by her sons, Donald Espy of Coos Bay, OR and John Espy of Eugene, OR; her stepsons, Lance Levitt of Sumner, OR and Storm Abraham of Eastside, OR; her brothers, John Edmunsun of Idaho and Timber Edmunsun of Idaho; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Espy, her daughter Dawn Star Potter, her stepson Marty Espy, and her sisters, Joy Holly and Famie Edmundson.
