Bonita Ruth “Bonnie” Shults, 88, of Coos Bay, was laid to rest with her husband and son (Jerry Lynn) at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay under the direction of Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary. 

She was born in Oxford, Nebraska on March 5, 1937 the daughter of Earl and Florence (Halling) Post. Bonnie died in her home in Coos Bay, on December 25, 2025, of natural causes.

Bonnie married Jerry Shults on July 25, 1955, and had 4 children. She worked for the Coos Bay School District for almost 3 decades.She is survived by her daughter Earlene Shults of Coos Bay, son Mel Shults (Jennie) of Roseburg, daughter Elaine Payne (Patrick) of Junction City, and several grandchild, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
