Robert (Bob) Lester Reifschneider was born September 21, 1944 to Reinhold and Ellen Reifschneider. He passed away on September 23, 2025 at his home in Coos Bay, OR. Bob grew up in Morrill, Nebraska, graduating from Morrill High School in 1962. He went on to attend Chadron State College, graduating in 1968 with a BA in Psychology. Bob was immediately drafted into the military and completed 2 tours in Vietnam, earning himself two medals of commendation for his service. Much of Bob’s life he was a successful real estate agent, first in Cheyenne, Wyoming, then in Gold Beach, Oregon before settling in Coos Bay, Oregon. Bob was married 3 times throughout his life. First to Bonnie Gowin, they had two children, Renae and Brenda. He then married Diana Scott, their marriage was blessed with three children, Patrick, Yvonne and Michael. Bob’s third marriage to Karen added her son Lonnie Denler to his growing family tree. Bob and Karen made their home in Coos Bay, Oregon, where they lived for over 30 years. Bob was a devout Christian and follower of Jesus and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Bob will be remembered for his quick wit and always being ready with a good joke.
Survivors include his sister Margaret Chirrik, Billings, MT; children Renae Noble, Chadron, NE; Brenda (Marty) Fritzler, Chadron, NE; Patrick (Stacy) Reifschneider, Torrington, WY; Yvonne (Chris) VanKirk, Steamboat Springs, CO; and Michael (Rosalyn
) Reifschneider, Pine Bluffs, WY; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is welcomed home by his loving wife Karen who passed away in May of this year, his parents, sister Maxine Dunsmore, nephew Greg Chirrick, stepson Lonnie, son-in-law David Noble and others who passed before.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 1st at Roseburg National Cemetery in Roseburg, Oregon at 2:00 pm. Arrangements under the direction of Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary in Coos Bay. 541/267-4216
